British Record Double

Two British records fell in two days as Luke Cutts beat the 12 year-old British indoor pole vault record with 5.83, the highest ever by a British athlete indoors or outdoors. John Lane, who trains with Jessica Ennis, set a new British indoor heptathlon record of 5982 points, beating the 19 year old mark.
Lee Emanuel ran a lifetime best 3:54.31 winning mile at the Armory in New York, to go third on the UK all-time indoor list.

Another American Record For Rupp

Galen Rupp breaks Bernard Lagat’s 2 mile indoor American record, set last year at the Millrose Games, with 8:07.41, after being on course to break Kenenisa Bekele’s 8:04 World record. His split at 2000 metres was 4:59! He broke the American indoor 5000 metres record a week ago on the same Boston University track.
Laura Muir ran a Scottish record/World leader/Stadium record 2:00.94 to win the 800 metres at the Glasgow International, chopping seven seconds off her indoor PB.

World Junior Record

World Junior Record

Last night Galen Rupp smashed the American 5000 metres record with 13:01.26 in Boston and Mary Cain (17) broke the World junior 1000 metres record set in 1982 by American Diana Richburg with 2:39.25! This summer’s World Junior Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon.
