You felt like the race might make or break Farah, but he showed why he’s double Olympic champion, as he poured the frustration of the last few month’s into the last lap, passing Yomif Kejelcha in the final straight for a 13:11.77 victory. The race doubled as the Ethiopian World Championship Trials. Kejelcha had narrowly beaten Mo in his season opening 3000 metres in Doha and has the world-leading 5000 metres of 12:58. After the race Mo said, “As an athlete all I want to do is what I do best and that’s to run and to represent my country and to win medals. enjoy training and enjoy racing.” Mo has not lost a 5000 metres in the last five years.
