Zharnel Hughes easily won the 200 metres to confirm his potential.

British record-holder Tiffany Porter beat her sister Cindy Ofili in the 100 metres hurdles as former record-holder Jess Ennis-Hill took third.

Greg Rutherford rased his game just enough to beat Dan Bramble with 8:11 in the long jump.

Robbie Grabartz made a welcome return after a long injury layoff to win the high jump with a World Championship qualifying 2.28.

Dina Asher-Smith was just six hundredths outside her British record as she beat Bianca Williams 11.08 to 11.43 to take her first senior title.

Laura Muir had the performance of the championships as she took control of a slow tactical 1500 metres, with a stunning surge to break the field, running 60 seconds for the third lap and holding off Laura Weightman by four seconds in 4:10.37. Jess Judd moved up to the 1500 metres to take third.
