British Mile Age Record

Set a British age 15 mile record of 4:17.8 in a British Milers Club race in Harlow, becoming one of the youngest runners ever to break four minutes for 1500 metres, with a split time of 3:59.8. After a long season you often see athletes struggling to hold their form in late August. I wonder how I put together two record-breaking performances so late in the year. I also remember 1970 for breaking three barriers. Two minutes for 800 metres (1:57.0), four minutes for 1500 metres (3:59.8) and nine minutes for 3000 metres (8:48.8). The 800 metres was done on November 11 at Crystal Palace!
