Olympic champion and World record-holder David Rudisha made a welcome return to the Diamond League as he just missed Aman’s world leading time by 0.02, winning in 1:43.84. Boris Berian was given a late entry and stunned in second by taking his PB from 1:45 to 1:43.84. He now goes into the US trials as the fastest American.

In a 5000 metres field that included the London Olympic silver and bronze medalists, Nick Willis looked to have surprised the field with a winning surge, before American Ben True ran him down just before the finish, both getting 13:29.
