Marathon Man

After an unhealthy lifestyle had affected his health, Steve Way took up running in 2007. Now at 40 he has finished 10th in the Commonwealth Games marathon in a PB 2:15:15, breaking Ron Hill’s 35 year-old British Masters record! The race was won by Delhi silver-medalist Michael Shelley of Australia in a PB 2:11:15. Kenya’s Flomena Cheyech Daniel won the women’s race in 2:26:45.
In the 5000 metres Kenya finished one-two as Caleb Ndiku beat Isiah Koech in 13:12.07, with New Zealand’s Zane Robertson getting an impressive bronze. England’s Andy Vernon and Tom Farrell finished sixth and seventh.
