Will A British Man Ever Win The London Marathon Again?

Neil Wilson put this question to Britain’s greatest marathon runners in 2010. Steve Jones won the Chicago marathon in a World record 2:08:05 in 1984 on his debut! He returned a year later and won again in a British record 2:07:13, missing by one second the new WR set by Olympic champion Carlos Lopes! The British record has lasted almost 30 years. He also won the London marathon earlier that year. The last British man to win the London marathon was Eamonn Martin in 1993.
