Shock Win For Kilty

In his first major championship, competing as a reserve for injured James Dasaolu, Richard Kilty becomes World 60 metres champion in a PB 6.49. Katarina Johnson took her first senior medal in the long jump with a PB/2nd UK all-time indoors 6.81m for silver. Tiffany Porter won bronze in the 60 metres hurdles to add to her medal collection. The men’s and women’s 4×400 realay teams took silver and bronze respectively. In the 800 metres Andrew Osagie was
promoted to bronze after Marcin Lewandowski was disqualified for stepping off the track. Genzebe Dibaba added a first World title to her three World records winning the 3000 metres easily in 8:55.04. Bernard Lagat just failed to take his third consecutive title in the 3000 metres finishing second to Kenya’s Caleb Ndiku, with Dejen Gebremeskel getting third. Galen Rupp finished fourth.
